South African Embassy to welcome the Global Change Makers in Brussels

Five young South  Africans will represent the country at the Euro Africa Youth Summit  as part of the Global Changemakers Programme. Happy Khambule will act as a peer facilitator while Baxolise Dlali, Gcobani Qambela , Lebogang Shilakoe, and  Yolande Oda Hendler form part of a group of 60 participants that will attend the three day Summit in Brussels.

The Summit starts on Saturday, 23rd  June 2012 and aims to give young people a platform to discuss how they can bring about change and initiate their own projects in their communities at home. If participants use and disseminate the knowledge and skills acquired through the programme, the British Council would pledge their support to projects emerging during the course of the Summit. H.E Ambassador Ajay Bramdeo from the African Union will be one of the guest speakers presenting a paper on relations between Africa and the EU.

Ambassador Nkosi will be meeting the group on 22 June to commend them on the achievement and encourage them to return to South Africa and transfer the knowledge and skill acquired during their interactions at the Summit.
